The Effects of Illegal Immigration on Families: works cited

“Without Immigrant Labor, the Economy Would Crumble.” The New York Times. New York TImes, 17 Apr. 2012. Web. 10 Jan. 2015. <http://www.nytimes.com/roomfordebate/2011/08/17/could-farms-survive-without-illegal-labor/without-immigrant-labor-the-economy-would-crumble>.

According to the new york times , If immigrant workers were not allowed to work, all of the spots they filled would be left empty. Anyone who has made it through all of their years of school, have their mind set on working in an office, not on a farm in harsh climates. We would be forced to pay more for produce and wouldn’t have chambermaids, busboys, or farmers. All of the work that most immigrants are involved in are unappealing to the average American. Illegal and legal immigrants must work together in order to have a functioning society.

Planas, Roque. “19 Reasons Latin Americans Come To The U.S. That Have Nothing To Do With The American Dream.” The Huffington Post. TheHuffingtonPost.com, 4 Apr. 2014. Web. 21 Jan. 2015. <http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/04/18/immigration-latin-america_n_5168356.html>.

The united states should be more focused on helping latin America instead of building higher walls to separate the two. Illegal immigrants want to come over to the U.S for more than just the “American Dream”. They want to live in a place that is stable. Latin America is so politically corrupt that it is practically chasing the natives out. The level of poverty and and violence is so high that it only makes sense why people would want to go to the U.S: a place of wealth and opportunities that cannot be offered where these people are coming from.
